My Wonderful Mess

I was making the kids clean up their rooms tonight, all the while griping to myself about the never-ending clutter that seems to follow me everywhere. As I was helping Harrison straighten out his shelves, I thought to myself, "There will come a time that I will long for the days of toys in the floor, and I will wish that I had little sticky hands and faces to wipe." I don't want to forget these days. I need to treasure and savor every minute with my babies. So, I picked up the camera and snapped a few pictures of my kids' rooms. Livvy was playing store at the time, and was busy carting food from the kitchen to her bedroom. Thus, the animal crackers in her doll buggy. One of the greatest things about being a mom is that you get to get up and do it all over again tomorrow.

Isn't it nice when you have those "eternal perspective" moments??! One little moment like that can carry me pretty far. Glad you had one today. :)

So true. Pres. Monson said something like that in conference and it hit me pretty hard. I don't want to look back and miss my kid and remember that I spent most of my time nagging at her instead of playing and teaching and loving. Thanks for the reminder.

Hmmm... Your "mess" looks a lot cleaner than my apartment and I don't have kids. Someday, I hope I can have messes like you instead of the ones I have now!
