Summer Breeze, Makes Me Feel Fine

We have enjoyed the summer evenings. This was our last get together before the Martins left us. :( It is nice to get out and let the kids ride bikes and the grownups chat with the each other. The kids all ended up on Serena's couch to watch a movie. Didn't know we could fit that many children on one piece of furniture!!! Later, we had cake to celebrate the Martin's new adventure. Caroline could not wait to eat the cake!! She hovered over it until FINALLY we were ready to cut it.
These lazy summer evenings are one thing I am going to miss once we go on to graduate school.

Breaking Up is Hard to Do

Sorry this text is so far below the pic. I am a ding dong when it comes to using scanners. Anyway, this is the Silver Cliffs gang. We have been living in the same apartment complex for quite a while now and we have become good friends. We took this picture after the Evans left. We wanted them to be in it, so I added them. :) We miss them and hope they will love their new home. It just makes me a little sad that everyone is leaving. Candace and Jonathan have great things to say about Sierra Vista, so maybe we'll all congregate there after graduate school!!! To all my great neighbors, the Evans, the Martins, the Tedfords, the other Whites:

"Saying goodbye, why is it sad? Makes us remember the good times we had. Much more to say, foolish to try, it's time for saying goodbye." -Kermit the Frog

Hooray for Summer!!

We love summer!!! School has only been out for two weeks, but we are having a blast, and spending a lot of time together. The kids have had fun swimming, and playing at Grandmother's house. Dad and the kids all had to have new goggles. They love wearing them in and out of the pool. With gas prices like they are, we will be content to spend the summer in our own backyard. (That's a figure of speech, we really don't even have a backyard.)

Harrison's Track Meet

Harrison had his track meet today. We had a blast watching everyone do their different events. Harrison's three events were: softball throw, long jump, and 100 m dash. He did well in all of his events, and most importantly, he had a great time. His best event is the long jump. He's been practicing at the track, and in his Grandmother's kitchen! He loves to do it, and we hope he will want to pursue track and field in high school.

Trip to Mesa Part II

Saturday morning our cousins came over for a BBQ. The kids had a lot of fun, and Uncle Jamie surprised us by bringing over his new baby, Russ. (He is an 8 week old Jack Russell terrier.) Olivia calls him "Wuss." The kids had so much fun holding him and playing with him.

Jamie decided to take his new baby for a walk, but I don't think Russ was intereted. After about half an hour, I think Jamie gave up.
Livvy and Kirah playing in the dirt.
Ashley brought over her baby Spike, a six month old pit bull. We had a little dog show out in the front yard. I think everyone was trying to one up everybody else's dog. :) Ashley and I went to Target later on, and she let me drive her car. What I didn't know is that Spike likes to ride in the driver's lap.....

We went to Mesa over the weekend, and we had a great time! Friday morning we went to the Mesa Temple, and then Friday night, we had a brithday party for Ashley's 19th birthday. My uncle found this cool pizza place off of Main Street. It's called Pizza Mart, and it has great food, and the coolest retro arcade games. My kids played 1979 Asteriods! Harrison said, "It's just a triangle and some blobs." Olivia can be seen here stirring the pitcher of soda with her straw. She blew bubbles in it too. Needless to say, none of us drank much root beer after that!

Daddy and Harrison playing Ninja Turtles.
Mom doesn't look too thrilled here.
The next morning, the kids played outside in the play pool, with Yoda, my uncle's Chinese pug. They had a good time, and they can't wait until it is warm enough to swim in Silver City!

I know that I have posted a lot, but Susan's got me addicted!!!We went to the high school track today. Harrison has a track meet at school next week, and we are helping him with his long jump. Livvy had to try too, and we even made Marvin take a turn. After I snapped the picture of him, he said, "I know that's going straight to your blog." You know it! Notice there are no pictures of me, I DON'T long jump! I do try to walk at the track three or four times a week. Anyway, we had fun today!
